Journaling & Dosing

Chances are if you have worked with me and Amanita Muscaria, you’ll have learned already that I am a major advocate for journaling.
Honestly, I didn’t fully understand the value of a journaling practice until I went through Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way many moons ago… Her recommendation to write three pages of stream-of-consciousness each morning- what she calls “Morning Pages” felt daunting and super tedious at first, but over time I began to witness the magic of committing to this process of getting to know my inner world more intimately and soon it became something I looked forward to.
Now, I often journal when I wake up from vivid dreams, when I can feel myself connecting dots and wanting to glean deeper insight into something I’m navigating within my psyche, after a breathwork journey, or after pulling oracle cards before a dose and wishing to explore their messages more deeply.
I know for many the thought of journaling feels impossible because of x, y or z… <Fill in the blank for what’s true for you>
But really journaling doesn’t have to be a big production. It doesn’t need to be profound, poetic, or even coherent. And it certainly doesn’t require you sitting down for an hour and pouring every single detail of your current life out onto paper…
What it does require is simply a commitment. Setting the intention to commit to understanding your inner world more deeply, with patience, curiousity and compassion. You set a time and/or pages that feels doable for you.
A few journal prompts that have been supportive as of late:
🍄What illusion am I ready to see beyond?
🍄How is life asking me to show up today?
🍄What reminder does my heart need to hear most?
Please know there is no “right” way to journal. Simply start writing, let your words be messy, honest, fragmented, poetic, or mystical. And for those wanting more journal prompts, you can find more within the 30+ Day Microdosing Companion to support you on your self-guided journey at home with Amanita👌🏻
Mush love! Happy journaling🧚♀️
