A Prayer of Reciprocity

To the Mushroom Spirits,

to the mycelium beneath my feet,

to the trees that hold you,

and to the Earth that holds us all…

I return what was gifted to me.

Last year, in this very place,

I was blessed to witness more Amanitas gathered together than I had ever seen before.

A moment of wonder.

A moment of remembering.

Today, I come not to take, but to give.

May this offering return a little love,

to the web that has given so generously.

May the spores, the dust, the fragments,

and every tiny piece of this relationship

find their way home.

May I remember that relationship

with the Earth is not a transaction.

We do not simply harvest.

We listen.

We receive.

We give back.

May every gathering be guided by reverence.

May every harvest be rooted in gratitude.

May we take only what we need

and leave enough for the beings,

the forest, the mycelium, and those who will come after us.

Thank you, Amanita,

for all your blessings and all your teachings.

Thank you, forest,

for the medicine of your presence.

Thank you, Earth, for reminding us that

we belong to something much larger than ourselves.

What we receive, we return.

What we love, we protect.

What we gather, we honour.

And what we take, we give thanks for.

May the relationship continue to grow.

With gratitude.

With humility.

With reverence.
